Biasing gives woven fabrics stretch, drape, and fluidity, allowing them to conform easily to curved shapes. It is commonly used in garments and trims such as dresses, skirts, neckties, waistbands, bias binding, and piping. Biasing is done typically by cutting a woven fabric on a  45-degree angle to the warp and weft threads.

At NYBB we keep a stock range of specially prepared base cloth fabrics ready for bias in basic colours in Poly / Cotton & Satin. These are processed as biased options - flat bias tape, folded bias, book fold or piping.

We can also bias & cut on request customers own fabrics.  

There are however minimums & limitations where suitable textiles can be biased.  Contact us to see if your fabric is suitable including a quote.
